    Notes:

    George is alone in 1840 Census. He was of Vassalboro at marriage. A George Carlton opened a dry-goods store in Taycheedah, Wisconsin in 1842. Also in 1842 a John W. Philbrick and family arrived in the village and opened the first tinshop in the county. (Waterville's John W. Philbrick was said to have gone to Wisconsin.) A George was born to John 16-Sept-1811 Newburyport, MA. They are in 1860 Census of LaCrosse, Wisconsin. George age 75 living with son Frederick's family in 1880 Census of LaCrosse,Wisconsin.

    George married Drummond, Eliza Bradford in INT.28-DEC-1831 in Sidney, ME. Eliza (daughter of Drummond, Rutherford and Davies, Rebecca) was born in 22-MAR-1809 in Vassalboro, ME; died in 30-MAR-1840; was buried in Pine Grove Cem., Waterville, ME. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
