2. | Swan, William ![]() Notes: Revolutionary War veteran - Major. Marched from Groton, MA to Saratoga to assist in the capture of General Burgoyne and his army. He removed to Winslow in 1806 and was elected and served as a member of the convention which framed the Constitution of Maine. (From Hanson's 'History of Gardiner'. William married Porter, Mercy in 1776 in Weymouth, MA. Mercy was born in C 1755; died on 15 Sep 1815; was buried in Pine Grove Cem., Waterville, ME. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
