    Colby College graduate, class of 1900. Marion was the first African American Woman to graduate from Colby. Her parents were freed slaves who came to Waterville in 1865. She taught in Brooklyn, New York from 1902-1906 and also taught in Milford, Delaware. She is Marion O. Matheson 'sister' single? in home of Edward Osborne in 1940 census of Waterville, ME.

    Marion married Matheson, Duncan G. in 1917. Duncan was born in c 1877 in Trinidad; died on aft. 1920 census in prob. Brooklyn, NY. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
